Subject:              Importance of Will and Succession Planning for Expatriates

Speakers’ Profile

Mr. Mohammad Marria established Just Wills Al Wasiyya JLT eight years ago after having worked with Just Wills plc in the UK since its inception back in 1988. He has a number of diplomas in Business Studies, Computer Studies, Islamic Banking and has also trained in accounts. He has a professional Will writing qualification from the UK from both Just Wills & the Institute of Professional Will Writers.

Mohammad has a wide range of experience in the Financial services sector and real estate industries which adds to his wealth of knowledge regarding succession issues. Mohammad has been a key personality in the media in both the UAE and State of Qatar on educating people here as to the necessity of drafting a Will to protect their assets.

He was the first person to suggest the need for an interim guardian and continues to look for new and innovative ways in which to further his business and protect his clients. His latest project has been researching into drafting Hiba (lifetime gift) contracts and this has now come to fruition.

 

 

Topic:

It is very important that people should understand how the local Law works and that this Law will be for the way the estate will be divided if there is no Will. All bank accounts are frozen on death, Visa’s are cancelled and there will be countless delays unless there is a Will in place. The topic applies to all Ex-pats living in the G.C.C. who has family, properties, bank accounts, Savings & Investments.
